When I traveled to Italy, I didn’t plan to visit this city; it was something unexpected. Therefore I did not accomplish the idea of checking the main tourist attractions in advance, and I didn’t know what to expect. Now, I can tell you that I do not regret the unexpected decision to visit this beautiful town.

When I first travel to Florence, I discovered a city that you don’t see every day. I was very fascinated by the impressive buildings, the unique history, but also of the people who were there. Everything seemed very special and surprising to me. I felt like even the air I was breathing was different.

While I was walking through the narrow streets of Florence, under the bright light of the sunset, I saw a carriage pulled by two beautiful white horses like you rarely see.

On the front seat of the carriage was the driver, an older man with a white beard and a black hat while on the back seat was a little girl accompanied by her mother while admiring the city. It was a view that stirred a great emotion in me; I felt like I was living in a dream.

I wish I could have such a ride, but the time was short, and I had to stay on schedule. Either way, the next time when I will get back here, I will not miss such a walk.

Among the main tourist attractions, I mention Piazza del Duomo and the group of buildings that make up the entire complex:

The Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore is the third-largest in the world after Saint Peter in Rome and Saint Paul in London. Also, another aspect to mention is the capacity of the dome, which can accommodate 20.000 people.

I suggest you admire the Porta della Mandorla (on the left side, a gate which is immediately after the work of Michelino – Dante and Divine Comedy), it shows the Ascension to Heaven of the Virgin Mary, a masterpiece by Nanni di Banco (1420).
