Today, June 8 is World Oceans Day, a day officially declared by the UN since 2009. The concept was proposed on 8 June 1992 by Canada at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. World Oceans Day is an opportunity to celebrate the Earth’s waters, the food that it provides, and the marine life.
