Plaiul Foii, Zarnesti, a wonderful place at the foot of the Piatra Craiului massif
The Piatra Craiului Nature Reserve has an area of 440 ha and dates from 1938. Rare species such as Dianthus Callizonus or Leontopodium Alpinum and the beautiful landscapes were the main reasons for protecting this area. The massif consists mainly of limestone and Mesozoic conglomerates. The Piatra Craiului National Arch has over 200 caves and potholes
