Memorial to the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance
The Memorial to the Victims of Communism and the Resistance was created in 1993 after two Romanian writers (Ana Blandiana and Romulus Rusan) presented the idea to the Council of Europe, which took charge of it.
Sighet Memorial from Maramures consists of two parts: the Museum, located in the former political prison, and the International Center for Studies about Communism, located in Bucharest.
